The Glass Slipper Ball has been held every year in Pittsburgh since 2004. The main goal is to raise money and awareness of women who experience human trafficking, sexual assault, etc. To pair with such a great cause, there is live music, auctions, dancing presentations, lots of vino, and of course, lots of great food…
This event features the “Best of the Chefs” – a competition for over two dozen chefs to showcase their favorite dish (aka I got to eat a lot of different foods from a lot of different local restaurants). At the end, a winner is chosen for best appetizer, best dessert, and overall best – but, everyone was a winner in my eyes.
So, if you’ve never been, you should definitely look out for a ticket for next year. A big buffet of fine foods, extravagant desserts, support for a great cause, and a reason to get dressed up & dance the night away – put it on your calendar for next year!
