Looking for some authentic Middle Eastern dishes? Look no further than the South Side. Kassab’s Restaurant has it all – hummus, kibbee, gyro, baklava, other things I can’t really pronounce, and plus the authentic music to go along with it.
Appie:
We went with the Mezza Platter just to get a taste of a little bit of everything – and what a good choice. Their hummus is some of the best I’ve had, it is so smooth and almost creamy. I probably ate that whole portion by myself. And the tabbouli tastes so fresh too!

Main:
I decided to go for the Shawarma wrap because I asked the waiter what his favorite is – plus Ted got the Sheesh Kabob so I knew I was trying the lamb anyway. It is delightful – the garlic marinated beef tips were amazing and the tahini sauce really compliments it well. This would be the perfect lunch dish in my opinion.
The bottom line is if you’re looking for something different to try and you’re in the South Side, give Kassab’s a go. Here’s their menu if you wanna check it out.
